Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead :: Review

I just watched Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead directed by Sidney Lumet and starring Philip Seymour Hoffman and Ethan Hawke. To start, I just want to say I loved this movie. The music that begins in the first few scenes gave me goosebumps. The premise is outright amazing, making the movie purely insane. The directing in this movie takes the plot to the next level. It changes what could’ve been a flop into a masterpiece. The way the characters respond to the extreme conditions they are in is superb. While some of the scenes may be deemed as a little cliche, the plot is so original that it is hard to retain the cliche frame of mind. It really changed the way you think about human perseverance and the resistance to just saying you’re sorry. The characters act in such a way that may be inconceivable to us “normal” people, but change the instant you imagine yourself in that certain situation. I absolutely recommend watching this movie. It is a work of art, and a must-see.
Halo 3 Montage Site
Hey,
I know I haven’t posting lately. That’s mostly because I just started making another blog devoted to Halo 3 Montages. (videos of pristine clips from pros mainly) If you want to check it out, go here. I’ll be sure to post here soon.
Assassin’s Creed

I just recently borrowed Assassin’s Creed for the Xbox 360 from a friend. I am probably going to play about five hours of it tonight. I am hoping to write a very positive review on it by the end of the week, but that might not happen. Several posts from other blogs are saying different things about it. We’ll have to see, I like some game more/less than other people.
I need to see “There Will Be Blood”

I have heard too much about this movie. I finally need to get out and see it. Unfortunately, it came out awhile ago in California and New York (Limited Release) and thus I wasn’t able to go see the film. I have heard only good things about it. It got nominated for best picture this year at the Academy Awards. I can’t wait to see it.
Arrested Development Movie Plans Are In Motion

I can’t believe this, one of my favorite T.V. shows is going to be made into a full-length film! I’m extremely excited, but I’m pretty sure this isn’t going to hit theaters for another 2 years. Oh, well, at least it will happen.
Lost Season 4

Finally Lost is back again, coming out with their first episode in season 4 last night. I unfortunately didn’t get the chance to view the episode, but I’ll be sure to download a copy and watch it right away. Here is a trailer for the season 4 premier.
Transformers 2 Updates
Update #1 : As previously posted, Transformers 2 is scheduled to be released to the big screen on June 26th 2009.
Update #2: It has been hinted that the date might be moved back due an article in The Hollywood Reporter.
Update #3: A new release date was confirmed for July 4, 2009.
Update #4: Transformers 2 to begin shooting June 2, 2008.
It seems we have some good information now, but only time will tell if this plan actually goes through to a full production. Michael Bay has said that it will have a ton of robots, so I’m not particularly excited, but we’ll see.
Reviewed: Call of Duty 4
I finally finished Call of Duty 4 on the Xbox 360. I would like to start by saying I enjoyed Call of Duty 2, and I still play it on PC. The gameplay is generally straightforward, there isn’t much room to improvise when playing through levels. It’s like clockwork, hide behind objects to avoid being shot, and then stand up and shoot the enemies. It’s not like Battlefield 1942 where you can go wherever you want on a map, but the less freedom you get, the more fun the game becomes. There’s not a lot of wasted time. The graphics on my PC are less than acceptable so playing COD 4 in HD was simply stunning. I beat the game on Normal difficulty, which was actually pretty easy. My favorite levels usually had some sort of sniper challenge. You get to dress up in a ghillie suit, hide in the tall grass, and snipe the enemies. These levels quite possibly may be the most exhilarating time I’ve ever had in a video game. Overall, the game was impressive. The graphics were pristine, and I didn’t run into any glitches. I suggest you go out and buy it ASAP.
Multi-player:
Oh, I almost forgot, the multi-player for Xbox live is fairly decent. You earn experience as you get kills in mp battles. You can unlock new guns, add-ons, and grenade options. Challenges are availible to earn bonus experience. As you earn experience, you level up. Unfortunately, the matches are not ranked, so if you are a level 15, you still play with people that are level 38. The level 38 players have an advantage too, because they have already unlocked amazing guns and add-ons. Other than that, the multi-player is quite decent.
